  The front desk is a very busy area at times. Our receptionist and technicians answer the phone, schedule appointments, retrieve and file patient records.

  Rhonda, a registered veterinary technician, is working on patient records and filling prescriptions.

  Our exam table goes clear to the floor so we don't have to lift patients. It is also a scale that weighs the pet on each visit. A warm, comfortable mat covers the table.

  Our goal is to provide as much information and education about patient care and preventative medicine as possible in the exam room.

  We provide a well stocked pharmacy. Inventory such as vaccine, medications, heartworm preventatives, etc. are checked into this area and then entered into our computer so it can be dispensed.

  Our in-house laboratory allows us to complete lab tests quickly and efficiently with same-day results. This is especially important for "sick" patients and emergency cases. It is a convenient service for pre-surgical patients.

  Patients are prepared for surgery in this area. Induction anesthesia is given, surgical clipping done, and IV fluids started.

  This is also the dental area where we clean teeth and take dental x-rays. The dental x-ray machine can be seen attached to the wall. We now have digital dental x-ray processing so images can be taken and viewed quicker, allowing less anesthesia time for our patients. This dental service is very important to identify "cat cavities" and periodontal disease.

  Our surgery suite is well equipped with the latest technology. Patients are on a heated surgery table during surgical procedures.

  This room has two surgery lights, surgical scrub sink, respiratory and cardiac monitors, radiosurgical/cautery unit, C02 surgical laser unit, gas scavenger system, x-ray viewer, and anesthesia machine for isoflurane which is one of the safest anesthetics available. Our laser surgery provides less pain, less bleeding, and quicker healing for our patients.

  Radiographs or "x-rays" are taken in this room. Our machine is capable of taking x-rays of very small and very large patients. Safety equipment for our staff include lead aprons and gloves, and film badges. We also have an automatic processor for developing the x-ray films.

  

• Boarding Runs for Dogs

  We have six large inside runs for dogs that are climate controlled. Dogs are walked outside at least twice daily. Large plastic racks are provided so the dogs are up off the floor. They enjoy music while they are staying with us. We have two large exercise pens outside.

  Our feline patients and boarders can enjoy a room without barking dogs. Some of the cages are "condos" so the cat can have more room and go from one cage to another.
